Jim is a retired Air Force officer and a retired Delta Air Lines captain. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1967 and earned his MBA from the University of Utah in 1976. During his career as a fighter pilot, he flew 195 combat missions in the Vietnam War and twice won the Distinguished Flying Cross. In 1987 he began a second career as an Air Line Pilot flying for both Pan Am and Delta, and he served as an elected officer of the Air Line Pilots Association from 1993 through 2005. Jim was elected to two terms on the James City County Board of Supervisors, and he currently serves on the Virginia Board of Veteran’s Services. He and his wife Linda live in Ford’s Colony. Their older daughter Cheryl is a retired Air Force officer who lives in Alexandria, VA and works for the State Department. Their younger daughter Cynthia lives in Williamsburg and is a teacher in the Williamsburg-James City County school system.
Sasha Maliniak moved to Williamsburg to attend William and Mary after growing up in Northern Virginia. After graduation, she worked at a public opinion research firm in California for six years. She is thrilled to be back home in Virginia working at her alma mater and pursuing an MBA. Sasha lives in New Town with her husband, Daniel, and their new baby daughter.
Jen is a Virginia native and William and Mary graduate who moved to James City County after a decade in San Diego. After working as the Environmental Management Specialist for the San Diego County Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures for ten years, she formed, and still operates, a San Diego-based political consulting firm which has helped elect dozens of candidates to
Lorraine Price owns her own interior design studio, Design Therapy, in Williamsburg. She graduated from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Active in social issues, Lorraine served as President of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Million Mom March, an affiliate of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, from 2000 until 2010. She currently volunteers in Food Recovery efforts to support the Grove Outreach Food Bank and as a language tutor for Literacy for Life. She also enjoys auditing courses at the College of William and Mary. Lorraine and her husband Doug live in the Governor’s Land.

First Vice Chair
Steve is a New Jersey native who lived and worked for most of his life in Endwell, a small town in upstate New York. Steve owned and operated The Galley Pub and Restaurant for 40 years. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. Married to his wife, Deborah, for 43 years, they moved to James City County in 2009 and live in the Stonehouse neighborhood. Look for Steve behind the grill or the bar at Democratic Party functions!
Second Vice Chair
Corey Buttram is a Virginia native and has lived in James City County for 13 years. She holds degrees from Virginia Tech and the University of Pittsburgh and is a librarian Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton. Corey serves as the Committe's liason to the Indivisible groups and other Democratic-leaning groups in the area. Corey lives in the Grove area with her daughter, Neve.
